World Superbike Race In Monterey California

Riding to Laguna Seca for the race and then back through the Sierras and inland mountains of Oregon on the way home. Leave on a Wednesday to arrive in Monterey Friday evening, two days of race watching, arrive back home on the following Tuesday or (likely) Wednesday. We will typically be staying in Best Western (or equivalent) hotels. As well, the pace will be steady and there won’t be a lot of “stopping to smell the roses”. All attendees will be expected to keep that pace. “I’ll catch up to you guys later” will not be a substitute for staying with the group. Due to the cost of accommodations, an even number of attendees is strongly encouraged.

Travel Routing:
My thoughts are to avoid Seattle/Tacoma and take the ferry to Port Townsend and go down the Hood Canal to pick up I-5 at Olympia. Stay in Sutherlin or Roseburg, Oregon the first night. Day Two will take us through Yreka, CA where we’ll pick up Hwy 3 to Hwy 299 at Weaverville, California. OR…..we could continue on I-5 south through Shasta to Redding and then West on 299 to Hwy 101 South to Willits. Day 3 will take us through or around San Francisco to Monterey.
On Sunday we’ll leave the track and overnight in Lodi. Monday will put us on Hwy 99 to either Yuba City and Hwy 20, then 49, then 70 OR Hwy 99 to Oroville and then Hwy 70. Either way, we’ll end up in Susanville, CA on Monday night.
Final two days ride home TBA.

Note: Participation in this event is at the discretion of the organizer.
