The Gold River Ride

Gold River accessed by Highway 28 is one of the most enjoyable rides on Vancouver Island. New pavement and little traffic make it even moreso!

We’ll meet at the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal and sail to Nanaimo. North on the Island Highway to Campbell River where we’ll have lunch. Then, onto Highway 28 to Gold River. We’ll have a break in Gold River and then return to Campbell River where we’ll stay the night. Sunday morning we’ll depart for Courtney for a ferry ride to Powell River and the Sunshine Coast. South on the Sunshine Coast Highway takes us through to Ruby Lake where we’ll stop for lunch. Then, onward to Gibsons for the ferry to Horseshoe Bay and home.

Hotel in Campbell River will be the Anchor Inn and Suites at $164.00 for two adults. 1-800-663-7227. Attendees are responsible for their own reservations. Ferry departs Horseshoe Bay at 06:30 and begins loading earlier so plan to arrive by 06:00 or earlier. There used to be a Circle Route ferry price and I’m checking on its current availability.

This ride is open to riders of all skill levels.
